Nyungne is the practice of 1,000-armed Chenrezig, the bodhisattva of compassion. The practice is very good for purification of one's negative karma, the accumulation of merit and developing and increasing one's compassion for all sentient beings. During the retreat, there will be chanting and mantra recitation along with periods of silence and fasting. You must have taken refuge vows and received the reading transmission to attend.
The program starts with an orientation talk at 7 p.m. Friday evening and ends on Monday morning at 7:30. There will be a light breakfast for those who stay after 7:30 a.m. Monday.
The cost of the retreat is $175. That includes overnight lodging at the center, May 22-24, and meals when permitted. There is space for eight practitioners. Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis and will close once we reach capacity.
Click here for directions to the center. The nearest airport is Minneapolis (MSP) and there is a shuttle that will take you to Menomonie which is 1/2 hour from the center. We can pick you up there.
Bring bedding if possible, towels and Bodhisattva motivation. Laundering facilities are available for your clothes.
